Abstract:
The purpose of equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) is to obtain the ultra-fine grained(UFG) materials. The densification and deformation behavior of pure aluminum by powder metallurgy during the ECAP process was studied by compressible rigid plastic FEM.Results show that ECAP process is a useful tool for eliminating the porosities in specimen.Analysis shows that hydrostatic stress state has an important effect on the results of product.High hydrostatic stress state is beneficial to improve the ductility and density of porous metal during the ECAP process.
