Abstract:
According to the floating-die forging and divided flow method for spur gear,a new technology of cold closed upsetting-extrusion process was introduced.In this new technology,the ring type of workpiece was preformed with the mandrel and forged finally using hollow divided flow method.The 3D rigid-plastic FEM results show that this new technology can solve the forming limitations,such as excessive deformation force and unsuccessful filling about tooth profile,and that it is an effective forging process for spur gears.
