Abstract:
A mechanism of small press driven by a pneumatic muscle was designed.Incremental working force was obtaind by combining a pneumatic muscle which could generate high driving force within a small mounting space with a toggle lever mechanism and a wedge.The simple transmission setup,compact structure,low noises and higher force increase ratio could be reached easily by the mechanism.The pneumatic muscle is ideal when used for the actuation of a small press,because a high force is exerted via a short stroke. The result is suitable for small press and table punch.The working principle of the mechanism,the force transmission analyses and parameter calculations were shown.This study offered a new drive for the small or table press.
