Abstract:

The dome reverse pressure is an important property of two-piece can,which should be not less than 90psi according to the standard.As the dome reverse pressure will decrease with the thickness of DI tinplate reduction,it is necessary to analyze the influence of the base section on the dome reverse pressure of two piece can so as to improve it by new base design.Based on the numerical simulation of dome reverse process,the pressure of dome reverse is calculated and the influence of main dome profile parameters,such as the base diameter,the dome top radius and the inner angle on the dome reverse pressure of two piece can are studied.It shows that the dome reverse pressure increases with smaller base diameter and inner angle.It also could be found that the dome reverse pressure increases to some extent with a larger dome radius,however,it will decrease rapidly with excessive large dome radius.
