To analyze the effect of backward extrusion on the mechanical properties of SiCw/6061 composite fabricated by squeeze casting technique, the strength, the plasticity and the hardness of the deformed components under different extrusion temperatures, extrusion ratio and extrusion male die cone angle are presented and discussed here. The experimental results show that extrusion deformation is capable of enhancing the mechanical properties of the components. With the increase of extrusion temperature, the yield strength and tensile strength of the components are being increased simultaneously, and the elongation is increased obviously at the beginning and then decreased slightly, and the hardness is decreased constantly. With the increase of extrusion ratio, the strength, plasticity and hardness of components are increased jointly. With the increase of male die cone angle, the yield strength and tensile strength are increased firstly and then decreased although the elongation and hardness are increased constantly.
