Abstract:
Feature recognition technology is the key to improve the manufacturing level and to realize the integration of CAD/CAPP/CAM.Freeform surface feature recognition of automobile panel is studied to extract abundant information from CAD model for CAPP.First form feature model of automobile panel is established.Then a new heuristic rule-based feature recognition algorithm is present ad to recognize hole features and flange features. Lastly software is developed on UGII platform to automatically recognize features of automobile panels.
