Abstract:

Sheet-metal forming process is a very complex plastic forming process,and the result of forming is influenced by many factors directly or indirectly.In this paper,the numerical results are based on Forge2D finite element analysis(FEA) software using elasto-plastic finite-element method for the stamping technologies of a automobile hubcap part in order to open out the deforming behavior,predict and prevent process defects such as,local thinning and crack.The design of the tools and the process parameters can thus be improved.The time and the costs of the manufacturing of the tools are reduced,so that it is effective and cost-effective to use the dynamic explicit finite element methods for simulation of sheet metal forming production.In this paper,three forming numerical simulation schemes are designed respectively.The forming character of blank in every scheme is contrasted,and a better forming scheme is obtained.
