Abstract:

Shell nosing is applied to fabricate part based on the technology demand of the product. Through the simulation of the shell nosing of long steel pipe using DEFORM-2D, a few parameters of the mould (the transition arc R_1, the transition arc R_2 and the inside diameter of upper die Φ are designed in optimal condition. The results indicate that when the radius of transition arc R_1 is 130mm, the radius of transition arc R_2 is 100mm and the inside diameter Φ of upper die is 288mm, the optimized shell nosing can be achieved and applied in factory.
