Abstract:
Effect of plastic deformation on microstructure and mechanical properties of weld metal in BT20 titanium alloy is studied.BT20 titanium alloy is welded with butt welding on GTAW machine..Experiment of plastic deformation is done on press and double heat preservation measure is used during plastic deformation.The paper describes influences of plastic deformation on microstructure and mechanical properties.Experimental results show that GTAW is a suited method for BT20 titanium alloy and when other parameters are identical,the less electric current is,the better the welding quality is.After the plastic deformation,microstructure becomes better,grain becomes smaller and strengthened and ductility and rigidity of welds are all increased.
