Abstract:
The ceramic mold is developed to apply surge current to compacted iron powder.The densification effect of surge current on compacted iron powder is studied.Tests are conducted by using the capacitor bank with capacitance 0.12 Farad under conditions of different applied voltages and initial pressures.Surge current is impacted on compacted iron powder part to produceФ10×10mm cylinder.It is found that the density of powder parts increases 5%~7% as surge current is applied to compacted iron powder.The higher the voltage is,the lower of part's initial density is,and the greater contribution of surge current to the density increase of iron powder part is.
