Abstract:

The increasing application of electro-galvanized steels highlights the urgent need for work in these areas in relation to both the formability and stamping technology. The formability of electro-galvanized steel is analyzed in this paper, including effect of zinc coating on mechanical properties and forming limit, zinc damage characteristics and relationship between the coefficient of friction and viscosity of lubricant. It is shown that electro-zinc coatings have little influence to mechanical properties and forming limit of sheet steel. With the increase of viscosity of lubricant, the coefficient of friction of EG sheet steel decrease. Compared with galvannealed coating, zinc coating is much easier to deform with the substrate, so that the cracks occur later and less.
