Abstract：

Considering the complexity of metal forming process and the expensive time cost for its numerical simulation, it is explicitly pointed out that the elastic plastic and thermal dynamics and their coupling in metal forming process should be solved by highly efficient parallel computation methodThe characteristics of the parallel and serial computation are briefly analyzed and the evolution of parallel computer and numerical parallel computation are presentedThe process of designing a parallel computation program is expounded and the key techniques and parameters for evaluating performance of parallel computation are simply explicatedThe investigation and development in the domain of parallel numerical simulation are simply stated especially for metal forming processA new highly efficient parallel computation method of numerical simulation is specially put forward to solve the elastic plastic contact problemThe development of parallel numerical simulation in the future is predicted finally
