Abstract:

In this paper, the elastic plastic finite element method and key technical based on static implicit scheme for the simulation of the forming process of sheet metal are introduced. The design of the dies for the auto mobile body panel, including the design of the binder surface, addendum surface and drawbead, and the simulations of the forming process of the automobile body panel are implemented with the program AutoForm, which changs the traditional method that needs frequent modification of the dies with a CAD software after finite element simulation. Parameterized design of the die is realized in the finite element software, which shortens the die designing time and increases the reliability of the design.
