Abstract:
The finite element model for multiple-stage incremental forming process of sheet metal was built based on ANSYS/LS-DYNA platform.The forming process of cone pad with three stages was simulated.The reason of subsidence was studied on the aspect of node's locomotion.It is found that node moves along negative direction of Z axis while there is a radial motion.The two-stage forming processes of cone pad with different parameters were simulated,and the influences of angle between paths,tool diameter and feed value of Z axis on subsidence were researched.The developed method to avoid subsidence phenomena was to modify the depth of pre-stage according to the subsidence value of subsequent stage,which has important sense to path designing for multiple-stage incremental forming process.
