Abstract:

The coupled vibrations among the tandem rolling mills were mainly studied. Through analyzing the causes of the rolling mill vibration, a single-stand chatter system coupled rolling mill process model and mill structure model was established, and a tandem rolling mill vibration system was built. By simulating these two models and comparing them, the results show that the main causes of rolling mill coupled vibrations are the strip's exit defects caused by work-roll vibration and the change of tension between the inter stands. Finally, the correctness of the model and simulation results were verified through on-site rolling experiments. Moreover, roll velocity and rational arrangement of the distance between the stands have an important impact on the system stability.
