Abstract:

Creep age forming has a unique advantage in manufacturing large and complex whole wall parts for aerospace component. It is considered to be one of the best metallic forming process for large airplane. The technique requirements of creep age forming was introduced. Combined with the tooling design requirements and specialty of creep age forming, moulds based on mechanical-pressure and air\|pressure with self-heating system were designed and produced. Both moulds are simple and practical, especially the latter which possesses a great value in actual engineer applications. The mechanical properties of parts after creep age forming are improved.
