Abstract:

The forming and local loading dies were designed and the local loading forming experiments were conducted for the typical titanium diaphragm forging(about 360 mm in outer diameter).The local loading method was used to control flow direction and distance of forging metal to avoid the forming defects,such as overlap and underfill etc. The experimental results show that hot-die forging technology with local loading is effective to control metal flow and improve forming quality and stock utilization.As a whole,the property of diaphragm forging meets the design demands.
