Abstract:

Lower ductility is a disadvantage of traditional hot stamping steels. Water cooled punch and elevated temperature die (200 ℃) were employed to hot stamping, the temperature evolution during hot stamping was measured, the microstructure and mechanical properties were characterized. The results show that the cooling rate of blank decreases with the increasing of die temperature. The application of elevated temperature die could meet the requirement of quenching and fully martensite microstructuris obtained. The ability of self temper and the yield strength are improved. At the same time, the internal stress is reduced and the ductility and the product of tensile strength are improved clearly.
