Abstract:

Based on the structural feature of spiral bevel gear in the rear running gear of tri\|motorcycle,the extruding part was designed. By the help of 3D rigid\|plastic FEM Software Deform, the divided flow extruding process was simulated, and the shape,cone angle and diameter of preform were analyzed for the plastic force and forming steel. The simulations show that the plastic force is less when the cone angle of preform is 7°-12° less than the extruding part's. Improper preform diameter would bring to hollow kernels in bevel gears. The experiment results show that the optimized preform by numerical simulation could be extruded directly to qualified extruding part and simulation results are helpful to the die design.
