Abstract:

In order to research how different sheet metal extrusion process parameters affect workpiece quality during sheet metal extrusion process, a two-dimensional axisymmetric model built based on Deform 2D finite element software was used. Furthermore, Ludwik hardening flow stress model and a ductile fracture criterion which indicated the evolution of void and the effect of damage caused by the void shape changes were used to analyze large deformation elasto-plasticity finite element analysis. Based on these analyses, the influencing law of sheet metal thickness, clearance between punch and die, punch radius, pressure ring force and ejector force on the quality of the sheet metal extrusion process and forming force were obtained. The research results show a great value for engineering application.
