Abstract:

Hot compression tests of AZ31B magnesium alloy were performed in the deformation temperature range from 280 to 440℃ and strain rate range from 0.001 to 0.1s-1. The influence of deformation, strain rate and deformation temperature on flow stress was also analyzed. The results show that the flow stress of this alloy is very sensitive to deformation temperature and str ain rate, and decreases as deformation temperature increasing, and increases with increasing of the stain rate. However, no significant change of flow stress is observed at the temperature of 440℃ and the strain rate below 0.01s-1. The hot deformation activation energy of the alloy is 141.6kJ·mol-1.
