Abstract:

Wrinking and thinning are often met when the die of CN100 car engine pan is tested. The drawing process was simulated by ETA/Dynaform. At the wrinking and thinning position of the simulated drawing , the nodes were seleted and used for analyzing the stresses. Drawbead was used and die radius was increased to 15 times of the original in order to eliminate defect. Finally the simulation result was verified using experimental die. The experimental result show that the wrinkling and thinning phenomenons are effectively alleviated or even eliminated.
