Abstract:

Hot extrusion forming process was introduced after analyzing supporting shaft which is made of 45# steel. The forming process was optimized and potential problems in the mold design were predicted exactly by analyzing stroke-load curve, metal flow characteristics and temperature field during the deforming process on the basis of finite element simulation for hot extrusion process using Deform-3D software. The result of finite element simulation was used for guiding hot extrusion mold-design of supporting shaft to reduce the design cycle evidently.It is certain that the application of hot extrusion process for the similar part has a reference value.
