Abstract:

According to the difficulties of the common manufacturing method of the projecting jacket applied to prevent the slender punch used for small holes blanking, such as processing hard, the high cost, the wear resistance insufficient, and etc., a new manufacturing method for projecting jacket of slender punch was studied. Firstly,the projecting jacket for slender punch was processed using common steel. Then the nano chemical composite plating process was applied to improve the hardness and wear resistance of the surface of the projecting jacket. The results show that the hardness and wear resistance of the coating are as same as those of the high strength material. The surface energy spectrum and morphology analysis of the coating show that nano-SiC particles contribute to the improvement of the hardness and wear resistance of the coating surface.  It is feasible to apply this new method in the practical projects.
