Abstract:

As plate is forced by asymmetric local load during single point incremental forming process, it leads some problems, such as springback, uneven thickness and hardly controlled deformation state appears easilys. On the basis of multipoint symmetric type incremental forming process presented, some finite element models were built, and some toolheads trajectory and simulation experiment parameters were defined; then deformation experiments of conical part were finished by single point incremental forming process and multipoint symmetry type incremental forming process, the experimental results of deformed part thickness, equivalent strain and deformation resistance indicate that the multipoint symmetric type incremental forming process is more helpful for  realizing the plate precision forming compared with the single point incremental forming process.
