Abstract:

The structural features of AZ80 magnesium alloy shroud and keys about warm extrusion process and die design were described. The type of AZ80 magnesium alloy shroud was prepared and the extrusion process parameters were optimized by selfdesigned warm extrusion die. The results show that the shroud is prepared with excellent surface quality and fine dimensional accuracy. The best forming property of the magnesium alloy shroud is got under the conditions that the extrusion temperature is between the 280400 ℃, extrusion rate is 10 mm·s-1 and preheat temperature of the die is between 150300 ℃.
