Abstract:

In order to overcome the defects of general link-type mechanical press in the process of manufacturing products, an optimization synthesis method was put forward for a new press driven by a pair of non-circular gears. To meet the press requirements specified, the displacement curve of the slider was constructed by using quintic polynomial, and the pitch curves of non-circular gears were optimally fitted. Moreover, the structural parameters of non-circular gears and the slider motion characteristics were analyzed and compared,and the physical model of gears manufactured by rapid prototyping technology were feasible. The results show that the pitch curve obtained is feasible, and new mechanical press synthesized by this optimization method could be developed.
