Abstract:

Considering the huge and transient lateral force that the cam followers institutions suffered in the spool drive system of large hydraulic press, a new cam profile curve design method was presented. This method tries to find the optimal arc curved contour to ensure a smaller value of the pressure angle of cam when the opening force of the spool is the maximum. The method was applied in the cam design of the spool drive system in 300 MN forging hydraulic press. The effects on system dynamics of the optimal arc cam and straight line contour cam were compared through the establishment of the spool drive system model. The results show that the drives of hydraulic cylinder in the spool driving system with the optimal arc cam can be reduced by 22%, the opening force declines 5 kN, the opening speed is smoother, the operation state is more stable, and the service life of the equipment is greatly prolonged.
