Abstract:

Traditional forging die design is tedious and error prone in aspects such as drawing creating of forgings, basic data analysis, cavity design,etc., and subsequent processing is long. By using UG NX 3D software, forging product design and modeling could be quickly finished, and then to accurately analyze the basic data related to forging die design. Utilizing “mold wizard” tool for typing, which was one of UG NX software modules, mold cavity creation could be quickly and accurately done, so as to provide necessary model for the following manufacturing of dies. The standard library of upper and lower modules of forging die could be established by using tools in “part family” module of UG NX software, which laid the foundation for next steps in other dies design. The efficiency of total die design is improved by 50% or more.
