Abstract:

The three-dimensional finite element model of radial-axial ring rolling was established based on Deform-3D platform. The ring rolling process of 42CrMo rings was numerical simulated and analyzed with the combined theoretical study and actual test, and the deformation rule and forming of 42CrMo rings were researched, which provided reasonable process for the rolling production of qualified rings. The results show that the simulation results coincide with theoretical study. The large deformation region is the outer ring, and the expanding speed of inner diameter is faster than that of outer diameter. The equivalent strain of outer ring is greater than that of inner ring, and the minimum and maximum equivalent strain respectively appear in the middle of ring and at the edge angle of axial end face. The temperature of outer ring is higher than that of inner ring, and the highest and lowest temperature respectively occur in the middle of ring and at the edge angle of end face. The maximum damage of material appearing at the axial end face is 0.645. The simulation results were verified by theoretical study and actual test, and the deviation of simulation and theoretical values of ring dimension is less than 5%,which indicates that the test results are close to simulation results.
