Abstract:

Through the study of high temperature ECAE process of GCr15 steel processing, the microstructure after heat treatment was observed and the mechanical properties of GCr15 steel before and after extrusion were tested.The results show that compared to GCrl5 steel before extruding,the GCrl5 steel extruded by single-pass ECAE has a relatively high hardness of 580 HV at the temperature of 950 ℃ which is improved by 61%.Also the grain deforms a lot from original organization of coarse equiaxed grain with diameter of about 50 μm before extruding to remarkably refine grain with diameter of about 8 μm after single-pass ECAE. The equiaxed grain of original GCrl5 steel under the action of shear forces is crushed and stretched in the shearing direction,which forms a band structure.The original multi-angular and large second phase particles are crushed into small particles and uniformly dispersed in the matrix, which significantly refines the microstructure.
