Abstract:

Based on the finite element theory for rigidity visco-plasticity, the forming process for joint of petroleum drilling rig was simulated through Deform-3D, and then the laws of material flow, stress field and load during the forming process were analyzed which provided the basis for the forming process optimization of joint of petroleum drilling rig. Using the optimized process of multi-step forming for joint of petroleum drilling rig, the critical problem of the location of horizontal sub-mold subtended hot extrusion was successfully solved, the better forming quality of the coning part was obtained, and the shape of forgings was closer to the shape of working part. Not only the forming force is deduced and material is saved, but also the distribution of the metal flow is along the cone, which decreases the exposed metal flow during the process of machining to improve the strength of thread on the coning part and the service life for joint of petroleum drilling rig.
