Abstract:

The main shaft system is the key working structure of continuous extrusion machine. If the size of the main shaft is designed theoretically, its service life will be guaranteed. But the shaft system is often broken,so it can not reach the service life in practical production. According to the analysis on technical features of the main shaft system, the FEM model of the system was established. By simulating the force situation during working process of the continuous extrude machine, the Von-Misses stress of components and the contact stress between them during working process of main shaft system were calculated. The results show that the working condition of the component which is near the stopper in the extrusion wheel is the worst, whose Von-Mises stress is up to 1540 MPa.The contact shear stress between the extrusion wheel and inner liner is largerwhose maximum value is up to 79.5 MPa. Both the ratio of contact normal stress and contact shear stress on every contact surface is smaller than static fiction coefficient.
