Abstract:
Textile needle requires a very high blanking quality. Structure of die and clearance between punch and die have a critical influence on dimensional accuracy and sheared edge quality of the needle. In order to improve the quality of needle, the blanking process of textile needle was researched. The optimal blanking clearance was predicted by FE software of Deform. A set of precise fine-blanking die was developed based on the ordinary blanking die with a slight clearance, small rounded corner edge of punch and die, inner pillar and elastic structure with reverse force. The dimensional accuracy of textile needle was improved, and the taper dropped from 13.5° to 2.1°. The sheared edge quality was increased, the burnish zone proportion increased from 19.6% to 79.7%, and fracture proportion decreased from 74.7% to 14.1%. The fine-blanking of textile needle was realized.
