Abstract:

A multi-factor friction model considering temperature, normal pressure and strain was developed on the basis of the arc-tangential friction model for bulk metal forming numerical simulation. The effects of velocity, temperature, normal pressure and strain on the tool-workpiece interface in the bulk metal forming process were considered fully. And the friction model was used to redevelop a bulk forming finite element software named MSC.SuperForm. The rationality of this multi-factor friction model was verified by comparing the numerical example analysis results with those of other papers.
