Abstract:

As a key component of the rolling mill, the roll is undertaken a large quantity of rolling stress and unsteady heat. It is of vital significance to do research on the fracture toughness of rolls with temperature. Three-point bending specimens made of Cr5 cold rolls were conducted to measure the fracture toughness KIC under the various temperatures of 353, 323, 293 and 273K. It is found that the fracture toughness of the material descends with the decrease of the temperature. The study on the property of the fracture toughness for Cr5 cold roll steel can provide a reference for the engineering design.
