Title:Optimization on numerical simulation of drawing process for automobile dash board

Abstract:

For the dash board of an automobile, the addendum and binder surface of the drawing panel were designed by 3D software, and the technologic parameters of the drawing forming were optimized by finite element software, so the crack defects were found. Through analyzing the causes of crack defects, and optimizing the blank shape by point tracing method, the qualified panels were obtained by numerical simulation at last. The die-surface was machined based on numerical simulation results. The optimized blank and the technologic parameters were used in actual die testing. The qualified stamping panels were obtained in experiment. The experimental results show that the maximum thinning ratio is 0.221. Therefore, the forming defects can be predicted accurately by CAE technology. Further, the die design is optimized, its development cycle is shorten, and its cost is reduced.
