Abstract:
The issue on short life of forging mould in the forging process of copper alloy at room temperature, usually occurs after only 200-500 workpieces being produced, and some moulds are badly cracked. Therefore, the strengthening technology of forging mould and major technological difficulties on the copper alloy open-type forging mould at room temperature were discussed systematically. In the actual production, the characteristics in the forming process were analyzed by finite element technology directly, and the forging mould and process were improved. The results show that based on the improved forging mould and optimized process, the forging mould can produce more than 3000 workpieces, and some forging moulds can produce up to 60000 workpieces. Thus, their life was prolonged dozens of times than before.
