Abstract:

For difficulties of forming the sheet metal with complex shape by stamping and producing the stamping die, and the high forming cost and low forming efficiency if only using CNC incremental forming, a hybrid forming combining stamping with CNC incremental forming was proposed, and the numerical simulation method of hybrid forming was presented. For the sheet metals with the same shape, three methods of stamping forming, CNC incremental forming and hybrid forming were numerical simulated respectively by finite element software, and their shape precision and thickness distribution were comparatively analyzed. The results show that the shape precision and thickness distribution of sheet metal obtained by hybrid forming can meet the practical application, and the proposed hybrid forming method is feasible.
