Abstract:

For the disadvantages of one-step die forging for double flange driving wheel, based on the special production line of “die forging and rolling compound forming” for train wheels, the forming technology of double flange driving wheel was studied, and the existing rolling mill equipment was improved by analyzing the structure characteristics of double flange driving wheel. First of all, a technological plan for rolling straight tread driving wheels was proposed, and the double flange parts were machined with a qualified rate of 93.1% and a stable quality of billet. Then, the double flange rolling process plan was put forward, and the die structure was designed and improved with a qualified rate of 96.4% and an ideal size and appearance quality of billet. At last, this forging and rolling process was verified by the batch production of the other driving wheels with a high qualified rate and higher material availability. In addition, a versatile die was designed according to the structure and size of variety of driving wheels, the manufacturing cycle was deduced and the production efficiency was improved.
