Abstract:

The lubricating performance of four kinds of solid matrixes contents and different contents of water-based thermoformed lubricants were evaluated by the optimized cone-forging method, and the values of H-indicator and F-indicator reflecting the lubricating performance of lubricant at 950 ℃ and 1050 ℃ with the volume ratios of lubricant and water of 1∶60, 1∶20 and 1∶4.5 were obtained. The results show that the optimized cone-forging method can indicate different lubricating performances of lubricants under varied conditions, and the lubricating performances of lubricants with compound stearate to be the matrix are the best under different conditions with stable lubricating performance and good process suitability. However, the lubricating performances of lubricants with artificial graphite to be the matrix are generally poor. Therefore, when two kinds of lubricants with high solid content in stock solution are forged at 950 ℃, their lubricating performances increase with the concentrations of stock solution. The optimal volume ratio of two kinds of lubricants with non-scale graphite to be the matrix forged at 1050 ℃ is 1∶20. The greater the viscosity of  lubricant stock solution is, the better the lubricating performance is.
