Abstract:

For outer plate of a car engine cover, the stamping process was simulated by sheet metal punching simulation software DYNAFORM,and the contact forces between die and sheet were obtained. Then, the shell contact forces obtained by DYNAFORM were mapped to the structural grid of stamping die by sheet metal punching analysis software JSTAMP, and the structural deformation of die was analyzed to obtain the deformation data of die profile surface. Based on the above data, the compensation scheme of profile surface was designed and conducted, and more reasonable profile surface structure of die was obtained. Furthermore, at manufacturing site, the debugging work of dies with and without profile surface compensation were compared,and the die repair and debugging time of matching rate were measured. The result shows that the above method can improve the matching rate of die, decrease the die repair and also shorten the manufacturing cycle of the stamping die.
