Title:Simulation on T-tube cold forming and optimization on the shape of roll hole

Abstract:
According to the roll-arranging scheme and the forming unit parameters of T-tube cold forming, the model of tube blank and roll during actual conditions were set up by software ABAQUS, and the whole rolling process was simulated by explicit algorithm. Through the analysis of local forming surface and contrast of the numerical displacement of middle point in the side of the inclination region along X direction in simulation results, it is found that the forming surface of the tube blank after entering the sixth pass is not compacted with the circular arc surface of tube blank, and this situation is not corrected during the subsequent deformation process. Based on the above situation, the shape of roll hole was optimized with changing the sharp corner into rounded corner, and the optimized roll-arranging scheme was simulated and verified. The results show that the finite element simulation can predict defects in the rolling process of T-tube and provide beneficial reference for designing the shape of roll hole.
