Abstract:

Based on the structural analysis of cross connector forgings, the die forging process scheme was analyzed and designed, and the forging dies and correction dies were also designed according to the characteristics of high dimensional accuracy, small machining allowance, mostly non-machined surfaces and difficult in metal volume distribution and forming. Then, the process and die were simulated and analyzed by DEFORM-3D, and the rationality of the design was verified. Furthermore, it is found that the material utilization rate reaches 81.2% and the product qualification rate reaches 99%. Finally, the forgings with stable precision and quality were produced by the batch production to meet the requirements of drawings. The results show that the complex cross connector forgings can be formed in one heat by the compound process of free-forging blanking and die forging, and the problems of insufficient filling and folding for this forgings can be solved by the design of resistance wall. Thus, the forgings with good forming effect are obtained, and the success rate of product development is improved effectively by the numerical simulation method.
