Abstract:

 The C12MoV die steel with conventional heat treatment had a short life due to the failure of abrasive particles and occlusal wear. A composite superhard layer was prepared by using C12MoV die steel as the matrix to improve the wear resistance of die. The SKD11 powder laser cladding method was used to form the millimeterscale cladding layer, and then the microscale superhard CV layer was formed on the laser cladding layer by the TD thermal diffusion method to form a composite superhard layer. It has been proved by experiments that the combination of matrix and cladding layer, cladding layer and superhard layer are diffused, and the combination is tight. Moreover, the matrixcladding layerCV layer can form a hardness gradient, and the TD superhard layer on the surface is supported by the cladding layer, so the composite superhard layer has a longer wear life of thirty times that of the matrix and is three times that of the simple TD coating.
