Title:Experimental study on springback of high strength steel sheet based on stamping processes under different U-shaped bending

Abstract:

For hat-shaped parts, a lot of experimental study and analysis were conducted by a self-designed and manufactured die for springback experiments, and the springback laws of three different properties of high strength steel sheet such as HC420LA, HC420/780DP and QP980 in stamping processes under different U-shaped bending and in different forming conditions were compared to provide theoretical guidance for actual production and design. The results show that under any stamping process, the springback of HC420LA steel is much smaller than that of HC420/780DP steel and QP980 steel, and the sidewall springback of hat-shaped parts is minimal under the free bending. However, the springback on flange edge is the smallest under the bending with intermediate force, and the springback under the bending with the blank holder force is always the largest. With the increasing of material thickness, the springback of three high-strength steel sheets decreases continuously, however, when the QP980 steel with the thickness of 1.4 mm is subjected to bend with intermediate force, the springback tends to increase in the opposite direction. Furthermore, the springback of three high-strength steel sheets increases with the increasing of the gap between punch and die, the blank holder force with 180-280 kN has little effect on the springback of HC420/780DP steel and QP980 steel, and the springback on flange edge increases with the increasing of bending angle.
